In today's lesson we will read through the book of Song of Solomon

In Today's Scripture Reading we will read about the qualities of married love representing Jesus's love for His Church.

This poem describes the wholesome enjoyment of marriage and love between a man and a woman. It expresses the delight of the bridegroom to the bride and of the bride to the bride groom. The bride describes her wonderful memories as her bridegroom waits. The circumstances are vague and not such as occur in ordinary life. The longing, the wondering, and the searching represent the images of dreams. The bride was asleep on her bed, but her thoughts were continually about her beloved absent bridegroom. "By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not" (The Song of Solomon 3:1)

Every believer is assured that "my Beloved is mine, and I am His" (2:16), for Jesus Christ has entered into our very lives. Our love relationship continues to grow and deepen as we listen to Him speak to us as we read and apply His Word to our daily lives. We must submit to one another as we do the Lord, "Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body." (Ephesians 5:21-23) 

We become different people by virtue of our relationship with the coming Bridegroom. With Paul, we too can say: "I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me" (Galatians 2:20).

As Christians, sometimes we enjoy a very close sense of the presence of Christ. But, all too often, His presence seems far away. Yet our love for Him continues to grow as we wait expectantly for that first glimpse of Him when He welcomes us home. 

As a bride, we also wait with great anticipation for the return of our Bridegroom Jesus when we too will be able to say: "He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me was love" (The Song of Solomon 2:4).

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also" (John 14:1-3)

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day here on earth. Thank you for the many blessings that you give me each day. Thank you for blessing me with a life filled with happiness and sorrows for without either of them I would not be the person I am today.

Lord, walk with me, guide me and give me the strength to follow You all through the day. When my flesh is weak and wants to give in to temptations wake me up and let me know that You are near. Bless me with the choices I make, help me to stay focused and wise in what I do and say today. Bless me with patience and understanding and give me the energy and motivation I need to stay positive no matter what comes my way.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless our nations with peace and bless all who read this message.

A Joyful and Prosperous Monday to you!
"I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.".......Psalm 91:2

In today's lesson we will continue to read from the book of Ecclesiastes, Chapters 9 - 12

In today's Scriptures we will read about the struggles of the righteous and the wicked, wisdom is better than strength, the wise versus the foolish, and the Creator is to be remembered.

Solomon was famous for his wisdom, but he could be misunderstood when he said: "Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes" (Ecclesiastes 11:9). Not continuing his message would imply he was encouraging youth to let passion and pleasure go unchecked; but he continued: "Know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment."

Solomon spent his lifetime searching for pleasure from every worldly source, but he used the word vanity (worthlessness) over 30 times in the Book of Ecclesiastes and concluded that ignoring the Word of God was the vanity of vanities. "Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity." (12:8) Before finishing his message, Solomon restated the basis for true wisdom: "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;"(12:1). Since all of us are part of the purposes of God, all else in life should be seen as opportunities to advance the Kingdom of God. "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." (12:13,14)

Satisfaction in life results from giving one's time, talents, and resources to fulfill the will of God. This is the only true source of happiness, peace of mind, and genuine enjoyment in life, for we were created to fulfill His purpose. By taking the time to put God first we are rewarded beyond measures, especially when we put Him first in times or sorrow. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10).

Therefore, it is foolish to seek riches, security, power, popularity, or fleeting goals in life merely for earthly self-satisfaction. It is also vanity to give way to the lust of the flesh (gratification of the physical nature), and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." (I John 2:15,16)

Living for God does not mean that you can not have prosperity, all things work for God's good and if You follow the Lord, and ask Him all things shall be given to you. "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." (Matthew 7:7,8)

Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Thank you for blessing me with another day. Thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Thank you for my eyes that see, my ears that hear, and for the nudges You give me to let me know that You are near.

Lord, walk with me, guide me, and be with me in all that I do today. When I start to feel like things are falling apart give me the strength to come to you to get through them. Give me peace knowing that You work everything out in Your own timing.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless our nations with peace and bless all who read this message.

A Glorious & Joyful Sunday to you!
"O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.".....Psalm 105:1

In today's lesson we will continue to read from the book of Ecclesiastes, Chapters 5 - 8

In Today's Scripture Reading we will read about being half hearted with the Lord, cautions against hasty vows, the emptiness of riches, wisdom and goodness upheld and the respect for rulers.

At Gibeon, the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream in which Solomon asked for wisdom. Yet, we have no record that Solomon ever copied the Law in his own hand, as God had instructed Israel's kings to do, and he ignored all of the laws specifically given to kings (See Deuteronomy 17:14-20).

As the years passed, he searched for satisfaction everywhere except from the Lord and His Word. "O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me." (Psalm 119:97-98). Following the years of living an extravagant lifestyle, in his old age Solomon observed that rich and poor were equally obsessed with such material things.

Solomon's thoughts then turned from the wordly to the religious life, and he noted that many attended the House of God offering insincere prayers and making vows that were never kept. The Holy Spirit, speaking through him, warned: "Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil. Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few." (Ecclesiastes 5:1). Pretending to lead a Spirit filled life is an insult to God, as well as hypocrisy. 

True worship requires a heart-inspired obedience to the Word of God. When we assemble to worship, we are to open our hearts to adore, praise, and exalt the Lord. Jesus defined worship when He said: "God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). After creating Adam, God "breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Genesis 2:7). That eternal spirit and soul is what must worship God; mere physical speech and religious rituals that are obligatory are not enough. The inner man, the eternal man, is what Jesus was saying must recognize and worship his Creator.

The place where we worship the Lord is not important. It may be a magnificent cathedral, a tent, a disciple's home, or a cave. "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" (I Corinthians 3:16). There is no time or place where God is not with His children. "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;" (John 14:16) Because of this, we should always praise the Lord whether it be in a palace or a prison. "And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them." (Acts 16:25)

God knows whether or not we are half hearted in our following Him. If we are going to lead a life that is un-godly and at the same time go with the motions of living a godly life then we are hurting ourselves. That is the quickest way to displease Him, He rather you be one way or the other, not both. Those who follow God whole heartedly whether they realize it or not  will start to live a more godly life, when they slip and fall, they are truly remorseful and look to God for the help they need.

Our flesh will never be perfect and to live godly does not mean that you can not live, what it means is that you enjoy the life that God gave you and do your best to put the past behind you and live the life that He truly intended for you to have. God wants you to live life to the fullest as if tomorrow may never come, but He wants you to value your life and live it with respect to others and especially to yourself. We are wonderful, unique creations from God, why would we want to degrade ourselves to live for drunken partying, drugs, and giving our bodies to strangers. In the end are we truly happy?

Today's Prayer:

Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day here on earth. Thank you for the many blessings you have given me today. Thank you for a working body and mind that allows me to make my own choices. Thank you for all that You do to protect me and keep me safe from the dangers up ahead.

Lord, I choose to follow You and as long as You are with me I know I can get through anything that comes my way. Walk with me, guide me and give me the strength to follow You at all times. Bless me with positive thinking and motivation even when opposition comes my way. Teach me to always come to You when I am sad or blue and start to fall into the temptations that cause me to sin.  

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know. Walk with them, protect them as they go about their day. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless our nations and those who read this message. I know some of them do not know You, Lord, work in their hearts and bless them, give them peace knowing that You are with them. May they all come to know You.

In Today's Lesson We will begin reading from the book of Ecclesiastes, Chapters 1 - 4

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn about the vanity (worthlessness) of living for pleasure and material gain, the reason for everything in our lives, and the varied proverbs of wisdom.

King Solomon wrote the book of Ecclesiastes while he reined, when you think about the life that he lead it would be easy to be impressed by his achievements and all that he had. He pretty much had and could do anything he wanted, but he was a very unhappy man. He wrote about all the things that he accomplished in his life. "I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: I made me gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits: I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees: I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me: I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts. So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me. And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour."  (Ecclesiastes 2:4-10)

Notice that the key word here is me, Solomon did all of these things for himself. With each increasing excess, he found less and less pleasure. Jesus declared success in life with one simple statement: Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things (material things) shall be added unto you"  (Matthew 6:33).

Solomon eventually realized that all these things were pure vanity. "Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun." (Ecclesiastes 2:11) Sadly, many today are still trying to gain fulfillment with earthly pursuits while ignoring the will of God.

It is recorded that when Solomon began his reign his heart was divided. "And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places." (I Kings 3:3) Consequently, his priorities became distorted and he gradually set his heart on material projects, wealth, and women. The more he focused on these things the further away he got from God and more emptiness he felt. In the end he realized in order to be truly happt we need to "Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:13,14)

Each of us needs to consider what God's purpose for our lives is while on earth. When it is all said and done will Jesus say to you "Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (Matthew 25:23) We have the mind of Christ which is wisdom, knowledge, and joy we can live a life of abundance. "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ." (I Corinthians 2:16) First we need to realize what type of life that we want to lead. An unhappy life full of vanity or a happy life filled with the Spirit that will bless you with so much more.

Today's prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day here on earth. Thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Thank you for the food that nurtures my body and mind. Thank you for the water that quenches my thirst and cleans by body. And thank you for the air that I breathe.

Lord, walk with me, guide me and protect me as I go about my day. Be with me in the decisions I make and help me to stay focused on doing the right things and remain positive and optimistic no matter what opposition comes my way. Bless me with a healthy mind and body that allows me to make the right choices and lives for You and not my flesh.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know. Watch over them, guide, them and give them peace knowing that you are near. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless those who do not know You and refuse to know You, may all come to klnow You, Lord. Bless our nations with peace and bless those who read this message.

A Happy & Joyful Friday to you! TGIF!
"For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.".....Psalm 100:5

In today's lesson we will continue to read from the book of Proverbs, chapters 27 - 31

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn about advice for the wise, Agur's confession of his faith, the words of King Lemuel, and praises of a good wife.

If we love someone, we want to be with them and to know what pleases them so that we can develop a lasting relationship. We also want to know what they dislike so that we can avoid decisions that would displease them. Surely, this should also be an important consideration in our relationship with our Lord.

God said: "Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father. He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor. He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination." (Proverbs 28:7-9).

Why should God be attentive to what we have to say if we are not interested in reading what He has to say? The Apostle John reminds believers: "If our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of Him, because we keep (obey) His Commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight " (I John 3:21-22). But, we can't keep all His Commandments if we don't read all of His Word to know what they are.

Strange as it may seem, some people pray for solutions to their problems, but completely ignore the one place where God provides the answers. Why is there such widespread failure among Christians to read all of what God has said? Do they assume that, like the world, their own "good judgment" can take the place of the wisdom of our Sovereign Creator?

The prophet Jeremiah exposed the underlying reason for Israel's problems, saying: "The Word of the Lord is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it" (Jeremiah 6:10). The Lord further declared through His prophet: "Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it." (6:19). Throughout history, God has rejected His people when they continued to refuse His guidance. Without a doubt, God is heartbroken when we chose to ignore the knowledge of His Words.

Jesus emphasized the need to read His Word when He said: "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love." (John 15:10).

If you avoid reading His Words because you do not understand then, keep reading them and you will. The more you repeat a Scripture the more you begin to understand what it means. Try it and watch your blessings increase.

Today's Prayer:

Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day here on earth. Thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Thank you for the gift of Your Words. Thank you for the teachers that taught me to read and write. Thank you for the brain that puts it all together.

Lord, walk with me, guide me and be with in in all that I do today. I admit that at times I let day to day activities come before You, get too tired and slack on reading Your Words and talking to You. Forgive me, Lord and teach me how to manage things by putting You first before all things.

Lord, bless me with strength and energy, motivation and positive thinking in all that I do today, no matter what comes my way. Bless me with a healthy mind and body. Bless me with a prosperous day in all that I do.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know. Watch over them and protect them as they go about their day. Keep them healthy and comfort those in pain. Give them peace knowing that you will answer all prayers when the time is right. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless our nations and all who read this message.

A Joyful and Glorious Thursday to you!
"He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill"....Psalm 113:7

In today's lesson we will continue th read the book of Proverbs, chapters  23 - 26

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn about overcoming anger and biterness, the moral, ethical, and spiritual teachings and the excellence of wisdom.

When we have been treated harshly by others it seems normal to stand up for our rights and fight back. We would like nothing better than to go against them to get even by inflicting suffering upon them. But, it is a serious sin to be delighted when an enemy suffers and seems to reap what we think he deserves.

It is even more serious to hold on to a secret hatred and a desire to bring about his downfall. We must never find peace and happiness by afflicting suffering on others no matter what they have done to us. "Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him, and He turn away His wrath from him" (Proverbs 24:17-18).

Attitudes of bitterness, revenge, hatred, or ill will toward anyone are self-destructive and they are indications that we are not living nearly as close to Christ as we should. "My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth" (I John 3:18). We are not to regard anyone as an enemy, since we were all created in the image of God and Christ died to save all of us without an exception. Let us pray that those whom we might consider "enemies" may become disciples of Christ and our brothers and sisters in Him.

No one is justified in taking revenge; we are definitely not qualified to be judge, jury, or executioner. We dare not assume the position of God, who said: "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath (opportunity for God's wrath): for it is written, Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, saith the Lord" (Romans 12:19). If we are unjustly treated, we should pray for our offender. Whether we see it or not, God will handle all acts that were afflicted upon us. "If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee" (Proverbs 25:21,22) 

All thoughts of hatred and revenge are temptations of Satan; but the indwelling Holy Spirit will enable the Christian to reject them and instead be merciful and forgiving rather than hateful toward a wrongdoer. Jesus said:"Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:5-10)

Today's Prayer:

Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day. Thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Thank you for being with me in the good, bad, and ugly times in my life. Whether I knew it or not you were always protecting me from the difficult situations that I seemed to get myself into.

Lord, I learned long ago that revenge is no answer to peace and happiness. Forgive me for all the times in my life that I let my anger and resentment get the best of me and took things into my own hands rather than to come to you for help.

Lord, walk with me, guide me and give me, the strength to get through the day. Satan knows my weaknesses and tries to use them against me every day, but I know with You by my side I can conquer them. Bless me with a healthy mind that allows me to think postively and rationally in all the decisions I make. Bless me with a healthy body that allows me to stay motivated and energized to do the things You call me to do.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know, watch over them, guide them, and give them peace knowing that You will get them through any situation. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless those who do not know you and those who live a life of bitterness and hate. May they all come to know You, Lord. Bless our nations with peace and bless all who read this message.

In today's lesson we will continue reading from the book of Proverbs, chapters 20 - 22

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn about the deception of achohol, the sovereignty of God over kings of the earth, and how moral goodness is rewarded.

Alcohol is amazingly deceptive. The occasional drink taken in moderation seems harmless and may even give the appearance of making life more enjoyable. Then the once social drinker eventually discovers that he is an alcoholic and has exchanged a meaningful life for a degrading existence.

Many brilliant people who were once successful and influential have been reduced to uselessness because of alcohol. And, strange as it may seem, in their own minds they are convinced that they can take it or leave it and stop drinking at any time. God has warned us: "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." (Proverbs 20:1).

Pity the person who tries to escape the pressures of life and relax with a "little" drink, unaware of where it might lead. No words can express the pitiful results of continued use of alcohol. Alcohol takes control both chemically and emotionally, with both physical and psychological effects. Once a person is "hooked," dependence upon it robs him of good judgment and, eventually, may destroy God's purpose for his life as well as those of others. Alcohol can produce unavoidable, irreversible, and far-reaching physical and emotional wounds.

The longer the victim of intoxication continues indulging in alcohol the more insensible he becomes to the consequences of his behavior. Gradually, millions have allowed themselves to be in direct violation of the Word of God. The only release from these tragic consequences is the mercy of God. When a person truly repents, turns to Jesus and allows Him to be Savior and Lord of his life, the Holy Spirit becomes his source of strength to overcome the sin of alcholism. "Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with (controlled by) the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:17-18).

"Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering (indulgence) and wantonness (immoral), not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof."(Romans 13:13-14). 

When we walk honsetly in the day and refrain from the lustful desires of the flesh we will see an abundance of blessings. When we fulfill the desires of the flesh and do not repent, God will step back and teach us one way or another that what we are doing is wrong.

"There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up. He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. " (Proverbs 20:20,21)

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,

Thank you for blessing me  with another day here on earth. Thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Thank you for comforting me when I am distraught. Thank you for Your patience when I fall and thank you for forgiving me and picking me back up again.

Lord, walk with me, guide me and protect me as I go about my day. You know exactly what I can handle and never let satan throw anything my way that I can not control. Give me the strength to follow Your will and not lose that control. Lord, bless me with wisdom and understanding of Your Words and teach me to apply them in my day to day activities.  Bless me with a healthy mind and body that allows be to do Your will more effectively.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know in person and across the wires. Watch over them, protect them and give them peace knowing that You will answer all prayers when the time is right. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless our nations with peace and bless all who read this message.

In todays lesson we will cotinue to read from the book of Proverbs, chapters 16 - 19

In Today's Scripture Reading we will read about the values of humbling ourselves, pleasing the Lord and choosing wisdom over pride.

No one is naturally humble (modest). Our human nature is full of pride passed down from Adam. It is only by abiding with Jesus that can we develop true humility in our lives. This will manifest itself in kindness toward the unkind, long-suffering toward those who annoy us, and love toward our enemies. How inconsistent it is to think we have humbly given ourselves to Christ if we snub or react harshly to anyone.

The Lord leads us to see the end result of pride and false humility: "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud" (Proverbs 16:18-19).

It is natural to think of ourselves as humble, at least more humble than others. But humility, or a lack of it, is apparent by our attitude when we are with someone who irritates us. If our replies are expressed in an unkind way, either outwardly in our words or actions or inwardly in our thoughts, then our "humility" is not real; it is merely a religious mask. Knowing the destructive power of pride, let us look upon people who seem difficult to love as those chosen by God to provide us with the opportunity to rid ourselves of self-righteousness and to express Christlike humility and the love of God.

Humble people will feel no jealousy or envy when they are ignored while others are praised. God reminds us: "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory (pride, empty conceit); but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves" (Philippians 2:3).

The Christlike nature of a Christian moves him to not respond with a sharp, unfriendly attitude when differences of opinion exist. Personal views often create ill will. "Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits (opinions)" (Romans 12:16).

To be Christlike is to see others through the eyes of Jesus and to give equal consideration to all people, regardless of their race, position, abilities, or wealth. "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:" (Acts 10:34).

Jesus said: "Whosoever exalteth (praises) himself shall be abased (humbled); and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted (Luke 14:11). A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." (Proverbs 18:24). Jesus declared that He is our Friend: "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you." (John 15:14,15)

Today's Prayer:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for blessing me with another day. Thank you for the many blessings you give me. Thank you for the bed that I lay my head upon, the covers that keep me warm, and the shelter you provide me with when I sleep.

Lord, I admit that I have let my pride get in the way at times, I thought I could do things on my own and that I did not need anyones help. Forgive me, Lord, what I really needed was You to guide me and help me through the situation no matter how small it may seemed. I had a hard time handling rejection or others views of me. I realize now that it does not matter what others think of me, it is what You think of me that matters.

Lord, walk with me, guide me, and give me the strength I need to always walk with You and follow You no matter what comes my way. Be with me in all that I do and protect me as I go about my day. Lord, I know that You send difficult people my way as a way for me to learn to be more compassionate and understanding towards them. Teach me to come to You to get through those times instead of trying to handle it on my own.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless our nations with peace and bless all who read this message.

You Are Not Alone

Today's Scripture:  "I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope." Psalm 16:7-9

The every day stresses in life are one thing, but when your life gets turned upside down it is so hard to focus on things. The times when we need to talk to God more, we seem to shun away from Him. So, I came upon this Scripture and it put me at ease about how I have been feeling.

Do you sometimes find it difficult to manage your thoughts, attitudes, behaviors or emotions?
Perhaps you have determined to do right, to change these habits and for a little while things might be better and then you find yourself right back where you started.

It is time to realize two things: First, you can not make this kind of change completely by yourself. Second, do not worry because you do not have to do it by yourself. God is right there standing by to help you. He is inviting you to turn your problem over to him. He wants you to know this is not a person-size problem, it is a God-size problem. He loves you and He wants to help you through anythign that You are dealing with. In fact He knows what you are going through, He just wants you to tell Him about it yourself and tell Him that you need His help.

Things won't change overnight, but you will be moving in the right direction. And God will be with you throughout the process. Remember this Scripture: "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13).

Dear Lord,

Sometimes I feel so alone and helpless. Help me remember that you are always with me and that with you, all things are possible.

"Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD."....Psalm 119:1

In today's lesson we will continue to read from the book of Proverbs, chapters 12 - 15

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn about disciplining children, moral goodness, and the pitfalls of evil.

God, in His infinite wisdom, has declared: "He that spareth (refrains) his rod (discpline) hateth (does not pay attention to) his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth (discplines) him betimes (thoroughly)" (Proverbs 13:24). 

The rod is the symbol of authority that God has given to parents for training their children. To apply the rod means to exercise authority. The rod must be administered firmly yet lovingly. Using the rod of authority does not mean that parents should release their bottled-up frustrations by shouting demands, slapping faces, or severely spanking. These are examples of mental and physical abuse. We must not expect adult maturity from our children. They need the same loving-kindness and patience from us that we desire from our Heavenly Father. Even mature Christians are prone to forget how many times the Lord, with long-suffering love, has forgiven our sins and failures throughout the years.

The greatest acts of love we can make toward our children's future is to teach them obedience and respect, First to teach them that Jesus is their personal Savior and Lord of their lives. "Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." (II Timothy 2:1-2). Secondly, to teach them to obey and respect their parents and all who are in authority, including schoolteachers and law enforcement officers. "They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's." (Matthew 22:21). As a requirement to teaching a child submission to authority, children are going to follow the examples of their parents. So, it is vital that parents consistently show submission to authority by setting their own example as well.

Biblical discipline follows the example of our loving Father in heaven, who corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves. "For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth." (Hebrews 12:6). The psalmist expressed it this way: "Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word." (Psalm 119:67).

We can develop our children's respect for God-ordained authority and, at the same time, provide them with an assurance of both our love and God's love for them. It is important to spend time with our children, especially reading the Bible and praying with them, to develop a concern for the things of God. "That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged." (Deuteronomy 6:2)  "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6).

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;" (Ephesians 6:1-2)

Today's Prayer:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for blessings me with another day here on earth. Thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Thank you for all the senses that you have given me that allow me to look, touch, taste, hear, and smell.

Lord,  You know my strengths and my weaknesses, please walk with me, guide me, and protect me as I go about my day. Give me the strength and patience I need to go about my day positively and motivationally no matter what tries to stop me. Forgive me of my sins and help me to forgive those who have sinned against me.

Lord, bless me with a healthy mind, body and spirit that allows me to make the right decisions and to follow Your will and not the will of my emotions or flesh. Bless me with a prosperous day in all that I do, teach me learn Your Words and to focus on them when I begin to feel as if things are falling apart.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know. Give them peace knowing that You will work everything out in Your own time. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless our nations, protect them and give them peace and an end to all war and conflicts. Bless all who read this message.

"But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works."...Psalm 73:28

In today's lesson we will continue reading through the book of Proverbs, chapters 8 -- 11.

In Today's Scripture Reading we will be learning about the benefits of wisdom, and the differences between the wise and foolish.

Nothing in life is more to be treasured, more priceless, than knowing the Word of God. As Solomon spoke these proverbs to his son, God is also speaking to us as His sons and daughters. "All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward (crooked, deceitful) or perverse (wrong) in them. They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge. Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it."(Proverbs 8:8-11)

When we commit ourselves to obedience of God's Word, our first considerations should be love, loyalty, and service to our Lord. However satan is persistant in keep Christians from reading what God has written, the only sure way of knowing right from wrong.

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding" (9:10). This wisdom and understanding covers every aspect of life: physical, moral, spiritual, financial, and our social well-being. "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth (difficult), do I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength."(8:13,14) Stay in the Word of God and all these worldly physical desires and emotions will cease by the strength of God within you. "Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death." (8:32-36).

The basic difference between the wise man and the fool is in the use each makes of his time, talents, and material possessions. When we rely on God and His Word it will result in loving obedience to Him. "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (3:5-6).

We all are on one of two roads in our journey through life. The road followed by the wise is narrower and more difficult, but it brings happiness, satisfaction, peace, and eternal life; however, the broad road of the fool leads to a life of self-interest, hatered, biterness and, ultimately, into the eternal lake of fire. "Death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire"(Revelation 20:14-15).

Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day here on earth. Thank you for the many blessings you have given me today. Thank you for the sunlight shining through the windows. Thank you for the clouds that bring the rain and for the rainbow after the storm to remind me that You are near and that You never go back on Your Words.

Lord, as you know, I have chosen the road to follow You and You know that satan is right there just waiting for me to slip and fall. Walk with me, guide me and give me the strength I need to endure all the tricks and temptations that he throws my way. With You by my side I know I can take on anything that he hits me with.

Lord, bless me with a prosperous day in all that I do.Bless me with the wisdom and understanding of your Words so that I may clearly reach those in need of You. Bless me with the patience and motivation to keep going no matter what comes my way.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know in person and online. Watch over, them guide them, and give them peace knowing that You will answer all prayers when the time is right. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless our nations with peace and an end to all war and conflicts.

Bible Study: July 21, 2007

"While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.".....Psalm 146:2

In today's lesson we will continue reading through the book of Proverbs, chapters 4 -- 7.

In Today's Scripture Reading we will read about the power of wisdom to protect us from evil, the seven sins most hated by God, and the necessity of keeping God's Commandments.

Of the many things that God considers a sin the ones He detests more are the sins that we commit with our own bodies, specifically sexual sins. Sexual sins are so deceptive and so destructive that more space is given in Proverbs to warn of their wickedness than to any other sin. Sexual sin dishonors the body which, for believers, is the temple of the Holy Spirit. "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost (Spirit) which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" (I Corinthians 6:19).

The warnings against such sins are found in Proverbs in all of chapter 5; 6:23-35; all of chapter 7; 9:13-18; and 22:14. God reveals that the only sure way of safety is found "When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:" (Proverbs 2:10-11) Indulging in a sinful relationship may provide momentary physical gratification, "But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul." (6:32).

God warns that disastrous results are inevitable: "He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks " (7:22). Some people assume that adultery and fornication are acceptable when they occur between consenting adults; but God says:"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." (I Corinthians 6:9-10) .

Satan can only tempt us, but sin begins when we dwell upon the temptation. Therefore, we must obey God's Word by bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (II Corinthians 10:5). Once we begin following God's word we will find ourselves more tempted by our fleshly desires, but anyone who has been drawn into sexual sins should genuinely repent of this evil and ask God for forgiveness. "he that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy" (Proverbs 28:13)

Jesus sacrificed His life to save us from all of our sins. "But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;" (Hebrews 10:12) As we stay in God's word it will help us sin less "Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin." (Hebrews 15-18)

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,

Thank you for blessing me with another day hereon earth. Thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Thank you for the food that feeds my body and mind, thank you for the water to quench my thirst and clean me, and thank you for the air that allows me to breathe.

Lord, walk with, me guide, and be with me all through the day. Forgive me of all of my sins and cleanse me. Give me the strength to walk away from those thoughs and fleshly desires that cause me to sin.

Lord, bless me with a healthy mind, body and spirit. Bless me with wisdom and understanding and help me to stay focused and positive no matter what comes my way. Bless my family, friends and all I have come to know. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others.

Lord, bless our nations with peace and an end to war and conflicts, bless those who do not know You, may all come to know Your, Lord. Bless all who read this message.

A Good & Joyful Friday to you! Yea! It's Friday!
"The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground" Psalm 147:6

In today's lesson we will begin reading the book of Proverbs, chapters 1 -- 3

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn that the Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and of the necessity of searching for wisdom; importance of trusting in the Lord.

Solomon, along with approximately 40 other writers of the Bible, was inspired of God to record exactly what God wanted us to know in order to be the person He created us to become. Consequently, we read: "Receive My (God's) words, and hide (keep) My Commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest (seek) after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God"  (Proverbs 2:1-5).

Speaking through Solomon, God is saying: "Take My Words Seriously." They alone can provide you with true wisdom that will guide you."Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:" (2:9-11).

Despite the Lord's urging, some people spend little, or no, time reading the Bible, even though the Apostle Paul said:" Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth" (II Timothy 2:15). Only a few ever pray for spiritual achievements so they may accomplish the purpose for which God created them.

Distinguishing Christians will put their personal goals in harmony with the purposes that God has for them while putting all wordly goals second to Him."But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33) In doing so they find their beauty from withing shining through and pouring out. "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." (Philippians 3:20,21).

The choice of whom we will serve is of utmost importance, for it affects everything else in life. With the same intense energy by which worldly success is pursued by many, Christians should seek achievements of eternal value for the good of others and the glory of God.

One of life's most sobering thoughts is "For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to his works (deeds). Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom." (Matthew 16:27,28) No one knows when Jesus will come back to earth and bring us to His Kingdom, but when that does happen will you be prepared. Have you accepted Jesus into your heart?

Thank you for blessing me with another day here on earth. Thank you for the many blessings You give me each day. Thank you for the sun, the rain, and the rainbow that lets me know that I am safe with You.

Lord, walk with me, guide me and protect me as I go about my day. Give me peace knowing that You will work out all things in your own time. Lord, Forgive me of my sins and bless me with the strength to walk away from temptations and fight the emotions that cause me to sin. Bless me with positive thoughts and understanding in all that comes my way.

Lord, bless my family, friends, all I have come to know, and those less fortunate than me. Watch over them, guide them, and protect them, give them peace knowing that You will answer all prayers when the time is right and may they all come to know you, Lord. Bless those who refuse to know You, forgive them of their wordly lives for they really do not know how to live for themselves.

Hello My Friend,

A Good and Joyful Thursday to you! 
"Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:"

In today's lesson we will continue reading the book of Psalms, chapters 144 -- 150
In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn of David's praise for God's mercy and goodness, the benefits of trusting in God, all creation to praise the Lord, and of triumph in the God of Israel.

The psalmist begins and ends each of the last five psalms saying: Praise ye the Lord. 
"Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being."(146:1,2)We praise the Lord that we can look to Him for our needs and answers.

"Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God: Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever: The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD." (Psalm 146:5,6,10)

The psalmist continues by saying: "Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." (147:1-3) "Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven." (148:11-13)

The more we are determined to truly put Christ first in our lives, the more we will experience interruptions which demand our time and attention. Many times, we allow even "good things" to keep us from "the best" that God would give us. The loss of good things may also be a test of our faithfulness, to see if, like Job, we can say: "He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold"(Job 23:10).

The Psalms make us aware that nothing comes into our lives by accident. Everything God permits is to develop His highest good in us.

These psalms assure us we have a loving, God who desires the best for His children. To make this possible, He has provided His Word as the One True Guide that reveals how we should live to please Him. Our Lord has provided His Church as a place where we can sing praises to Him, share our testimonies with others who love Him, and receive instruction and inspiration from spiritual leaders. As Christians, we were never meant to be self-sufficient, independent loners but responsible members of His Church. "But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love."  (Ephesians 4:15-16).

The Book of Psalms concludes by proclaiming: "Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord" (Psalm 150:6).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,

Thank you for blessing me with another day. Thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Thank you for the good, bad, and even the really frustrating things that You send my way. Through You I can conquer them all and become the person You created me to be.

Lord, walk with me, guide me and protect me as I go about my day. I am so weak and fragile without You, please be with me, Lord and Give me the strength I need to walk away from the temptaions, frustrations, and emotions that cause me to sin and fall short of Your glory.

Lord, bless me with a healthy mind, body, and Spirit, work in me and give me the patience and understanding I need to get through the day positive and motivated. "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well"......Psalm 139:14

In today's lesson we will continue reading the the book of Psalms, chapters 139 -- 143

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn of the all-seeing providence of God, David's prayer for deliverance from Saul, a comfort in prayer, and a prayer for mercy in judgment.

Our Creator inspired David to write: "O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways (you know everything about me). For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether (you know what I am going to say before I say it)." (Psalm 139:1-4)

 "For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them." (Psalm 139:13-16).

God reveals that, at conception, David became a person, a living soul. Although, as an unborn infant, he was hidden from human view, as if buried in the earth, his body was no mystery to his Creator, who was skillfully preparing him for his God-ordained destiny on earth.

The Holy Spirit inspired the beloved physician Luke to record what the Angel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary: "Behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call His Name JESUS" (Luke 1:31). Note that the Lord Jesus Christ was announced as a Person at conception.

God also led Isaiah to prophesize about Jesus: "The Lord hath called Me from the womb; from the bowels (body, internal parts) of My mother hath He made mention of My Name" (Isaiah 49:1) Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God. And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength. And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth."  (Isaiah 49:4-6).

God revealed to Jeremiah: "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5).

If the mothers of David, Isaiah, or Jeremiah had aborted them, they would have murdered great men of God. But the world's records today would have just shown more unnamed fetuses. Life is sacred and is given by our Creator for His own purposes, we all can be great men and women of God. "Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer (Permit) little children, and forbid them not, to come unto Me: for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 19:13, 14).

Jesus is Revealed in Psalm 142 ans the one who deals bountifully with us."Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me" (Psalm 142:7) Jesus brings all who call on Him out of that prison and blesses us generously. "Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." (John 10:7-11).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessings me with another day here on earth. tHank you for the many blessings you have given me each day. Thank you for my eyes that see, my ears that hear and my mouth that speaks.

Lord, I know that you created us for Your purpose, walk with us, guide us and lead us along that purpose. Give us the strength to get out of those wordly cares and focus on using the gifts that You have given us for Your glory.

Lord, bless me with wisdom, peace, and motivation in all that I do. Be with me in the decisions I make and help me stay positive no matter what comes my way. Bless me with a healthy mind, body and spirit and teach me to give them the right fuel they need to function properly.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know, in person and online. Walk with them, guide them and give them peace knowing that You will answer all prayers when the time is right. Bless those less fortunate than me and those who do not know You. May all come to know You, Lord. Bless our nations and all who read this message.

"Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant".....Psalm 135:3

In today's lesson we will continue reading thr book of Read Psalms, chapters 132 -- 138

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn of a prayer for God's blessing, joy of unity, exhortation to praise the Lord, God's enduring mercy, and God's Word magnified.

The psalmist reminds us of "how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments" (Psalm 133:1-2; See also Exodus 30:25,30; Leviticus 8:12). The holy anointing oil that was poured upon the head of Aaron, the first high priest, is a prediction of the anointing, indwelling, and outflowing of the Holy Spirit upon believers today. The oil poured out symbolized the Holy Spirit who, in love, covers as well as infuses the lives of those who have submitted themselves to Him.

The same indwelling Holy Spirit lives within all true Christians "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." (I John 2:27). Therefore, in the spirit of love, we should express our uniqueness without prejudice, regardless of race, nationality, education, or wealth. "And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular." (I Corinthians 12:26, 27).

The key to being one with God is to "let nothing be done through strife or vainglory (empty conceit, self-seeking or petty ambition); but in lowliness (humbleness) of mind let each esteem (respect) other better than themselves" (Philippians 2:3).

Our fallen nature has a tendency to twist unwelcome encounters with others and our emotions to create a crisis out of unimportant incidents. Added to this, we all too often selfishly demand our own rights and blame our frustrations on others. Pride, self-will, and an independent spirit are all enemies of the Spirit-filled life. It is Christlike to accept personal offense with patience rather than to react to someone's rudeness. We need to recognize that people's bad attitudes are often momentary frustrations caused by conflicts, sorrows, sufferings, or bad news. God permits difficult people to come into our lives to give us an opportunity to express His love and patience toward them just as our Lord has made known His love and mercy toward us.

The unity of believers can be compared to a great orchestra with many instruments creating beautiful harmony. To maintain that harmony, we each must stay in tune by following the Master Conductor. With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring (making every effort) to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:2-3).

Jesus is revealed in Psalm 132:11 as the descendant of David, who would sit upon David's throne "The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne." Compare to "He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David "(Luke 1:32; See also Acts 2:29-30).

Today's Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day. Thank you for the many blessing you have given me. Thank you for giving me choices and teaching me from them all. Thank you for Your grace and Your mercy and thank you for not giving up on me when I tend to stray while talking to You. 

Lord, walk with me, guide me and give me the strength to endure all things and people that casue difficulty in my life. Yes, there are some people that I rather not deal with, but I know that You are doing it to create in me the person I am meant to be. Bless me with patience and understanding, knowledge and wisdom. Teach me to come to You to get he answers I need.

Lord, bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know in person and online. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless those who do not know You or refuse to know You. May all learn of Your great and wonderful blessings waiting for them. Bless our nations and the ones who protect us. " The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul."....121:7

 In today's lesson we will continue reading the book of Psalms, chapters 120 -- 131

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn of a prayer for deliverance from lying lips, for sustaining power, a prayer for the peace of Jerusalem,and a blessing of trusting God.

The Law required all male Jews physically able and ceremonially clean to go to Jerusalem three times a year to participate in the seven feasts (Exodus 23:14-17; Deuteronomy 16:16). "With confidence in the Lord's protection on the journeys, the Israelite worshiper could sing: "My help cometh from the Lord" (Psalm 121:2) "The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." (Psalm 121:8).

The psalms were sung as they traveled toward Jerusalem to participate in the feasts (festivals), sacrifices, and worship. Even though some may have traveled as much as three weeks to arrive in Jerusalem, these were to be journeys of great joy. They sang with assurance that the Lord would protect their homes and possessions during their absence: "Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep" (121:4).

The psalmist said: "I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities." (130:5-8). We too are taught to trust in the Lord for supplying our needs and protection, as well as forgiving is of our sins.

David was inspired to foresee that glorious time when the Messiah will reign in Jerusalem, "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever." (Revelation 11:15).

This prophecy foretells the reign of Christ: "And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem." (Isaiah 2:3).

Centuries have passed since this prophecy was first given, but the day will soon arrive when Israel's throne will be occupied by a descendant of David, the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ. "Let all believers praise our loving Heavenly Father and echo the words of the Apostle Paul: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:" (Ephesians 1:3,4)

 "Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace" (Ephesians 1:5-7).

Jesus is revealed in Psalm 121 and He promises us that no matter what hardships we face that He is our protector and right there with us. He will deliver us from all evil and sit right beside us in His Kingdom. "The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." (121:5, 8) "And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen" (II Timothy 4:18).   Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord, Thank you for blessing me with another day here on earth. THank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Thank you for the food I eat, the water I drink,and the air I breathe.

Lord, walk with me, guide me, and protect me as I go about my day. Give me the strength I need to wait patiently for You to give me the answers and solutions to any problems that I may face. Bless me with wisdom and understanding of Your words, teach me to listen for You whenever you speak and to trust in all the decisions that You make for me. Bless me with peace knowing that you will answer all prayers when the time is right and that some times my prayers are not answered because they will cause harm to me.

Bless my family, friends and all I have come to know in person and online with theses things as well. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless those who do not know You or refuse to know You. They really do not know what they are doing and need all the help they can get. A Joyful and Peaceful sunday to you!
"Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart."..... Psalm 119:2

In today's lesoon we will continue reading the book of Psalms, chapter 119

In Today's Scripture Reading we we learn of the greatness, power, and perfection of God's Word.

The purpose of the longest chapter in the Bible is to focus our attention on the only perfect Guide to Life given by our Creator. In it, God has provided everything we need to be the person He planned for us to be and to accomplish the purpose for which He created us. It is equally emphasized how necessary it is to know our Creator, Savior, and soon-coming Messiah King.

The chapter opens with: "Blessed are the undefiled (Pure in heart) in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart." (Psalm 119:1-2). We are specially blessed as we seek to please God with the whole heart.

Like David, all who seek God will pray: "With my whole heart have I sought Thee: O let me not wander from Thy Commandments. Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee "(10,11). It is by taking daily delight in God's Word, that our fellowship with the Lord is assured." I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. " (14) The psalmist continues:" I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. "(16). This kind of forgetting is more than a momentary memory lapse. It is drifting away from God as a result of becoming so involved in other interests that His Word is neglected.

Daily we need to pray: "Make me to go in the path of Thy Commandments; for therein do I delight. Incline my heart unto Thy testimonies, and not to covetousness" (33-36). As we do this, we have something to sing about regardless of any circumstances that come are way. The child of God can also say with the psalmist: "Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept Thy Word."(67) "It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn Thy statutes" (71)

Though he had been afflicted, the psalmist did not find fault with God, nor did he doubt the Lord's wisdom or His justice. For many of us, it is in times like these that we painfully recognize that we have made wrong choices in the past which have led to unwholesome consequences. In such circumstances we realize that the Bible is priceless, for it alone reveals life's true values and prepares us for eternity. All who love the Lord can say: "I rejoice at Thy Word, as one that findeth great spoil "(Psalm 119:162).

"And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved."(Psalm 119: 47). Jesus said: "I came down from heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."(John 6:38-40).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,

Thank you for blessing me with another day. Thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Thank you for the good, bad, and ugly days. Thank you for seeing me through them all and helping me become the person I am today from them all. Thank you for believing and having faith in me when I did not.

Lord, I admit there are times when I start focusing more on things that are going on with my life or body and less on You. I really do not mean to, but some times it is so hard not to worry or fear things that I have no control over.

Forgive me, Lord, walk with me, guide me and be with all through the day. Help me to learn to come to You with my troubles instead of trying to handle them on my own. You know exactly what is going on with me, but only when I come to You will I get the peace and relief I am seeking.

Lord, bless me with wisdom and understanding of Your words, Teach me to listen to You whenever You speak and to meditate on Your words daily. Bless me with a healthy mind and body that will allow me to do Your will successfully. Bless me with patience and positive thoughts no matter what comes my way. Bless me with peace knowing that You will work everything out.

Bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know. Bless those less fortunate than me and those who do not know You. May all come to know You, Lord. Bless our nations with peace and an end to war and conflicts. Bless all who read this message.

"O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory." 108:8"

In today's lesson we will continue reading the book of Psalms, chapters 108 -- 118

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn of David's praise to God for His sovereignty over nations, a prayer for judgment upon the wicked, and of the exhortation (advice) to trust in God and not idols.

When Jesus Christ ascended into heaven, He fulfilled the prophecy which the Holy Spirit had earlier inspired David to write: "The Lord (God the Father) said unto my Lord (God the Son), Sit Thou at My right hand, until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool "(Psalm 110:1). Jesus quoted this psalm as referring to Himself. "For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool."(Mark 12:36).

Israel, as a nation, rejected their Messiah King. But, the Stone (Christ) which the builders refused is become the Head Stone (Christ) of the corner. This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes." (Psalm 117:22,23) 

"Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD. God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar. Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever." (Psalm 118:26-29).

Jesus quoted this Psalm, saying: "And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder."(Luke 20:17-18) "And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner: This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?"(Mark 12:10-11).

Even Paul quoted a Psalm when he wrote to the Ephesians: "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints (believers), and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief Corner Stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord" (Ephesians 2:19-21).

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost (Spirit), said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

 Peter then quoted Psalm 118 when he said: "This is the Stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the Head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other Name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved "(Acts 4:8-12).

Today's Prayer:

Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day. Thank you for the many blessings you have given me. Thank you for the bed I slept in, the light that guided me, and the cups to get drink from.

Lord, walk with me, guide me, and grant me a clean heart that is filled with Your Spirit. Bless me with the strength and confidence to serve You and to submit to Your will and not my own. Let me live for the day, not overcharged with worldly cares. Bless me with peace and joy no matter what comes my way. Help me with the decisions I make and help me to be prosperous in all the things You set me out to do today.

Bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless those who do not know You and who refuse to know You. May all come to know You, Lord. Bless our nations with peace and protection and put an end to all war and conflicts. Bless all who read this message.

"Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."...106:1

In today's lesson we will continue reading the book of Psalms, chapters 106 - 107

In Today's Scripture Reading we will be learing of Israel's rebellion in the wilderness, God's mercies to Israel, and of the exhortation (advice) to praise God for His goodness

Although God had faithfully blessed Israel, miraculously delivering them from Egyptian slavery, provided them the promised land, and given them victory over the Canaanites and great prosperity, "They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel: But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert." (Psalm 106:13-14).

Israel's unfaithfulness and numerous sins are brought to our attention. Among them: "They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image " (106:19) "They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt" (106:21) "despised the pleasant land, they believed not His Word But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD." (106:24,25) "They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the Lord commanded them But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them." (106"34-36).

The psalmist then points out the expected consequences of sin: "Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against His people, insomuch that He abhorred His own inheritance. And He gave them into the hand of the heathen (nations); and they that hated them ruled over them "(106:40-42).
But, the Lord's judgment on Israel was mingled with His mercy. "Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"(107:6-8) "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." (107:20).

Note carefully that Israel's method of deliverance is the same for everyone today: He sent His Word, and healed them. The psalmist could have simply said: He delivered them out of their distresses. Instead, he chose to say: He sent His Word, and healed them. His Word is Jesus come in the flesh as well as His Written Word: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). His Written Word, when believed and acted upon, is the means God has chosen to supply and satisfy man's every need.

"Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses." (Psalm 107:8-13).

Jesus is revealed as the One who "maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still." (Psalm 107:29). When Jesus calmed the storm, His awestruck disciples exclaimed: "What manner of Man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him!" (Matthew 8:27). Jesus offers to calm the storms of our lives and give us His peace. "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."(John 14:27).

Today's Prayer:

Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day on earth, thank you for the many blessings that you give me each day. Thank you for my family, my friends, and all who cross my path. Whether good or bad experiences they have taught me many things, most of all they have taught me to become closer to You.

Lord, walk with me, guide me, and be with me in all that I do today. Give me the strength and courage to make the right decisions. Bless me with patience and understanding when things just do not seem to go the way I think they should go. I have to remember that it is Your will and not my will.

Bless me with peace and positive thoughts no matter how crazy things get. I know as long as I have You with me that everything will work itself out. Bless me with a healthy mind and body and a prosperous day in all that I do. Bless my family, friends, and all I come to know, bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others.

Bless those who are struggling and do not know you and who refuse to come to know you. They really have no clue as to what they are doing to themselves and everyone around them. Forgive them, Lord and You have forgiven me of my transgressions. Bless our nations with peace and an end to war and sufffering. Bless all who read this message.

A Good and Joyful Thursday to you!
"Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.".......Psalm 102:2

In today's lesson we will continue reading from the book of Psalms, chapters 101 -- 105

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn of a personal commitment to the Lord's ways, a cry in distress, gratitude to God for His mercy, His mighty power, and God's providence over Israel.

David was inspired by the Holy Spirit to prophesize of Jesus' glorious coming kingdom reign when He will administer equal justice for all the world. Because of this, David declared: "I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me" (Psalm 101:2-3). To maintain this attitude, David chose his friends wisely, saying: "A froward (deceitful, perverted) heart shall depart from me: I will not know (have anything to do with) a wicked person" (101:4).

A few of the many reasons for praising the Lord are given in Psalm 103, but it is our loving Lord Himself who is our highest reason for praise. First, we praise Him for who He is, the all-powerful, all-wise, righteous Creator, and then for His mercy and forgiving love in cleansing us from all our sins. We also thank and praise Him because "He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him" (103:10-11).

Just think, His forgiving love toward those who fear Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. Therefore, it is an act of unbelief on our part, a deception of Satan, and opposing to the nature of our loving Lord, for us to bring up former sins either ours or those of others. Forgiven means no longer remembered, not only by God, but by us as well "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (I John 1:9) "But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins." (II Peter 1:9).

As you begin praying, always remember to forgive anyone you feel has wronged you. When you do that, your Father will forgive your evil deeds; but, if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive you nor answer your prayers "I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer." (Psalm 66:17-19).

We are reminded that unlimited forgiveness should characterize every true disciple of Christ, for He said: "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses." (Mark 11:25-26).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,

Thank you for blessing me with another day. Thank you for the many blessings you have given me today. Thank you for the food that You provide me to eat, the water You give me to drink and the air that You give me to breathe.

Lord, I know there are times in my life when I have little patience with people that have caused me pain. Instead of talking to You about it I would try and forget everything that has happend and never really forgive the person. I know now that in order for me to see prayers answered I have to forgive All who wronged me.

Lord, forgive me of my sins and forgive those who have sinned upon me. Remind me each day of all the gifts you give us, but the greatest gift of all is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear, we must also open our hearts to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love. 

Lord, bless me today with Your presence, walk with me, guide me, and give me the strength to forgive and forget every negative thing that comes my way. Bless me with a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Bless me with motivation and positivity no matter what comes my way. Bless me with wisdom, understanding and a prosperous day in all that I do.  
 
Bless my family, friends, and all I come to know. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless those who do not know you, may all come to know you. Bless our nations with peace and an end to war and conflicts. Bless all who read this message.

"IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD, AND TO SING PRAISES UNTO THY NAME, O MOST HIGH".......92:1

In today's lesson we will continue reading from the book of Psalms, chapters 92 -- 100

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn of praising for the loving-kindness of the Lord, appealing for justice, and a calling to sing, worship, and praise the Lord.

By the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the psalmist invites the faithful to "O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation." (Psalm 95:1 "O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice," (95:6-7). Praying with a heartfelt attitude of gratitude and thanksgiving is a vital part of worship. Singing joyfully carries with it the thought of expressing devotion to our Lord.

Praise to the Lord will lift worship beyond the level of personal needs to the higher plane of love and adoration as we honor the Heavenly Father, our precious Savior Jesus Christ, and the indwelling Holy Spirit. A "self-centered" person assumes the "worship (music)" service was meant for his personal satisfaction. Consequently, we hear such people say: "I didn't get much out of the service." The reason is clear they didn't put much into it.

Worship is not a time set aside for receiving personal satisfaction or for the enjoyment of a sermon. Worship should be an active, heartfelt expression of prayer, praise, and adoration, demonstrating our esteem for our Savior Jesus Christ. Following this, all else, including the sermon, becomes more meaningful.

Some lack spiritual fulfillment because they have decided to reflect the mood and attitude of unbelievers when confronted with adverse circumstances, such as the loss of a job, the death of a loved one, a divorce, the betrayal of a friend, or some other painful experience. By deciding to be unhappy and dissatisfied, they deprive themselves of the joy of an abundant, peaceful life.

When we think of all our Lord has done for us, in us, and with us, and all He has promised to us for all eternity, we cannot help but decide to praise, worship, and "serve the Lord with gladness and come before His presence with singing "(100:2). Our gladness will be in direct proportion to our faith in His unfailing presence and promises. "For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations" (Psalm 100:5).

Jesus is revealed, "Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture." (Psalm 100:3). "All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made" (John 1:3)

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,

Thank you for blessing me with another day on earth.Thank you for the many blessings you have given me. Thank you for the good things, the not so good things and even the things that make me want to scream.

No matter what we face You are there with us. Thank You, Lord for being there even when I thought You weren't. Whether times are happy, sad, or down right ridiculous I will praise You. I know You will get me through every thing and as long as I have faith and put my trust in you I can not go wrong.

Lord, bless me this day with your presence. Be with me in all that I do, walk with me, guide me, protect me, and help me get through this day positively and rationally no matter what forces try to bring me down. Bless me with a healthy mind, body, and spirit and a prosperous day in all that I do.

Bless my family, friends and all I have come to know with the same and give them peace knowing that you will answer all prayers when the time is right. Bless those less fortunate than me and use me to be a blessing to others. Bless all who do not know you or refuse to know You. May they all come to know and accept You as their Saviour.

Remember to Forget

"He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea." Micah 7:19

Have you ever done anything that you are ashamed of? Have you ever done things you wished you had not done? If you have repented of those sins and have turned your back on them, the Bible clearly teaches you that you are forgiven.

There is something in us that wants to keep bringing up our past sins. Maybe we feel that by doing so, we are somehow making amends for the wrong that we have done. Maybe by punishing ourselves, we think we are somehow appeasing God. But this is wrong and thoroughly unscriptural.

Acts 13:38-39 says, "Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses."

Speaking of our sins, God said, "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." (Hebrews 8:12). "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more."

And Micah 7:18-19 says, "Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea."

Have you ever lost anything in a lake or in the ocean? It is pretty much a lost cause. Once it goes down, it goes way down. God has taken your sin and has thrown it into the deepest part of the ocean. Simply put, it is gone. Therefore, we should not choose to remember what God has chosen to forget. You are free from all repented sin, trust in the Lord and get on with your life.

"Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance." 89:15

In today's lesson we will continue reading from the book of Psalms, chapters 88 -- 91

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn of a cry for deliverance from death, praise for God's Covenant and promises, frailty and briefness of life, and of the faithful being protected.

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" (Psalm 91:1). This is one whose heart is set on being obedient to the Lord. To abide under the shadow of the Almighty there is a need to "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." (James 4:8).

When in doubt, "abstain from all appearance of evil" (I Thessalonians 5:22).

The psalmist expressed the utmost confidence in the loving care of God when he said: "Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day "(Psalm 91:5). The psalmist then assured the faithful, saying: "Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation (dwelling place); There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." (91:9-12).

Satan, a fallen angel, quoted these verses to Jesus after His 40-day fast in an attempt to persuade Jesus to leap off the pinnacle of the Temple. Satan said: "If Thou be the Son of God (meaning: Since You are the Son of God), cast Thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning Thee: and in their hands they shall bear Thee up, lest at any time Thou dash Thy foot against a stone" (Matthew 4:6).

There are some today who love the promises of God but who disregard the conditions of those promises. Our Lord set the example when He responded to Satan by quoting Scripture which warns not to tempt the Lord God: It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt (test) the Lord thy God (Matthew 4:7; also Deuteronomy 6:16). We have no assurance that the Lord's angels will keep us if we choose "ways" that serve self and misapply His Word.

Satan has deceived many by saying: "Your situation is an exception" or "Just this one time" or "Be broad-minded; everyone is doing it." He also uses examples of hypocrites to deceive some by pointing out: Religious people do these things, so why shouldn't you?" We must continually be "casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (II Corinthians 10:5)

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day here on earth. Thank you for the many things that you have given me. Thank you for the clothes I wear, the shelter from the rain, and the finances to keep food on the table.

Lord, I know that I have fallen into the tricks of satan and have suffered for it many times. He knows my weakest moments and watches for any move in that direction. He will tempt me with things that I long for and as soon as I fall for it he has me regreting every decision and makes me feel as if I will be punished by You forever.

Forgive me Lord, for letting satan control those weak moments and not turning to You to help me through it. That is why I can not do anything without You. I need You with me, Lord waking moment and even in my sleep. You are my rock and with You all things are possible.

Walk with me, guide, me and give me the strength to always follow You and not the false thinking and temptations that cause me to sin and fall short of Your glory. Bless me with a healthy mind, body, and spirit that allows me to due Your will efficently and joyfully. Bless me with wisdom and understanding of your words. Bless me with patience and positive thinking no matter what comes my way. Bless me with confidence and compassion, clear thinking and motivation throughout the day.

Bless my family, friends, and all I have come to know, bless those less fortunate than me. Walk with them, guide, them and protect them as they go about their day. Give them peace knowing that You will answer all prayers when the time is right. Bless those who do not know You and refuse to know You, may they all learn and accept You into their lives. Bless all who read this message.

"Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah"........Psalm 84:4

In today's lesson we will continue reading the book of Psalms, chapters 81 -- 87 

In Today's Scripture Reading we will learn of God's goodness and Israel's waywardness, the blessedness of living in God's presence, and David's desire to walk in truth.

The Holy Spirit guided David to unite the only two weapons of our spiritual warfare ? prayer and the inspired Word of God. Psalm 86 expresses the power we have when these become our way of life.

When David prayed: "Bow down Thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy" (Psalm 86:1), he was acknowledging his dependence on God. "Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee." (86:2). He continued to pray: "Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto Thee daily" (86:3). Although David was the king of Israel he recognized the lordship of God over his life. "Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul." (86:4). He often
