Bible Study: December 18, 2007

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me. Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress." (Psalm 71:1-3)

It is Tuesday December 18, 2007 and today we are beginning our studies on the book of I Peter. Please read, I Peter 1 -- 2. In Today's Reading we will learn about the call to Christian dedication; the proper use of Christian liberty; and the example of Christ's suffering.

The book of I Peter was written by the apostle Peter to the Exiles (those banished) who were being persecuted for their Christian faith. The purpose of this letter was to warn believers of the dangers of persecution from those outside of the Church. "Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." (I Peter 1:1-5)

Peter referred to Christians as elect, those who are chosen through sanctification of the Spirit, and by the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ. "Sprinkling" alludes to the blood which was sprinkled on the Brazen Altar as a symbol of the people's obedience to God, as well as on the people as a symbol of God's acceptance of them (See Exodus 24:1-11).

As Christians, we look forward to the inheritance reserved in heaven for us. And although we have this promise during our brief lifetime in this world, Peter urged that since we are strangers and only spend a brief moment of our lifetime on earth that we should abstain from the fleshly desires that cause us to war against our own soul."But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation." (2:9-12).

Peter continued to remind us of the importance of living a holy life, saying: "Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king." (1:13-17) "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls." (21-25).

Since the Bible is our one complete source of guidance and strength, Peter urged believers that as babies (new converts) we desire to be fed the milk of the Word so we may grow more Spiritually. Peter points out that the nourishment of the Word is essential if we are to live as obedient children. Our desire to know the Bible in order to do the Lord's will is always in our very best interest.

Seeing that you have purified your souls by obeying the truth through the Spirit explains how surrender to the Lord's authority and the power of His Word transforms lives. Peter describes Christians as a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Each of us is a sacred temple for the indwelling Holy Spirit. In addition, we have been chosen to chosen to represent God therefore we are to show praises to Him for He called us out of the darkness and into the light. Praise God that you are a chosen one.

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with a new day here on earth and thank you for the many blessings you have given me today. You are worthy of all praise so today I will spend this time only praising You. Thank you for my life on this earth, however challenging or not.Thank you for giving me free will to love and be loved, to make my own decisions, to learn from my mistakes, to laugh when I am happy, to cry when I am sad. Thank you for my family, my friends, my pets, my colleagues, and for every other living creature I meet along my journey. Thank you for giving me strength to overcome adversity, to do what's right for the benefit of the greater good, to rise above negativity. Thank you for giving me hope for an end to world suffering, pain, and war, for a beginning of a world filled with light and everlasting love. In Jesus' name, I praise You.....Amen.

Have a wonderful and joyful day/night.
God bless,
Christina

Bible Study: December 17, 2007

Posted on Dec 17, 2007

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death." (Psalm 68:19-20)

It in Monday December 17, 2007 and today we are studying the book of James.
Please read, James 1 -- 5. In Today's Reading we are learning about Christians rejoicing in trials; heeding the Word of God; faith that works; dangers of the tongue; worldliness and pride; warning to the rich; and the power of prayer.

The book of James was written by James to Believers among the twelve tribes of Israel and all who believe. His purpose was to comfort believers undergoing trials for their faith. "James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting." (James 1:1)

Some people are inclined to tell others about all their sufferings and sorrows with a fear that they will come off as a "Woe is Me" attitude of despair in order to seek sympathy. Others are prone to blame anyone, even God, for their problems. James may surprise you because he wrote: "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." (James 1:2-4).

Furthermore, James reminds us that those who endure temptation receive the crown of life which the Lord promioses us, but let no one say that a temptaion is something that was sent by God for God can not tempt us with evil. God allows the devil to afflict us, but He also gives us free will to choose whether we fall into that temptation. "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." (1:12-15). Trials in life may seem to be undesirable and a waste of time, but they are a great benefit to those who remain teachable and faithful. The fact is the trial of your faith, is much more precious than fulfilling fleshly desires.

However. James assures us that we can overcome any sin by prayer and forgiveness. "But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:12-16) All of us need to be reminded to draw near to God, and He will draw near to us and help us resist the temptations of the devil. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." (James 4:7-8).

Pity the poor soul who believes that it is only the Devil who is giving him a hard time and, consequently, feels frustrated and distressed. All trials and assaults by Satan can only happen with the permission of God and should prompt us to praise the Lord, knowing that our faith develops patience, we don't need to fear what may happen.

As Christians, we possess the whole armour of God so that ye may be able to stand against theschemes and trickery of the Devil. To withstand the Devil during our trials, we must remember Paul's words of encouragement to the Ephesians, "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;" (Ephesians 6:13-18).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with this day and thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Lord, in every need let me come to You with humble trust saying, "Jesus, help me." In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations, Jesus, help me. In hours of loneliness, weariness, and trials, Jesus, help me. In the failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles, and sorrows, Jesus, help me.
When others fail me and Your grace alone can assist me, help me. When I throw myself on Your tender love as a father and savior, Jesus, help me. When my heart is cast down by failure at seeing no good come from my efforts, Jesus, help me.
When I feel impatient and my cross irritates me, Jesus, help me. When I am ill and my head and hands cannot work and I am lonely, Jesus, help me.Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls, and shortcomings of every kind, Jesus, help me and never forsake me. In your mighty name, Jesus, I pray......Amen.

Have a wonderful day/night and week.
God Bless,
Christina

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee. O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD." (Psalm 31:22-24)

It is Sunday December 16, 2007 and today we are completing our studies on the book of Hebrews. Please read, Hebrews 11 -- 13. In Today's Reading we will learn about the worthy fruits of faith, patience, and godliness; a warning against disobedience; and service that is pleasing to God.

The history of the people of God confirms that some endured hostile circumstances and suffering, yet remained faithful and fulfilled His will. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." (Hebrews 11:1-3). In the book of Hebrews we are given a review of some of them, By faith Abel offer God a better sacrifice than Able, By faith Abraham, was tested by offering up Isaac as a scarifice, By faith Noah built an Ark, By faith Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, the list goes on and on. (Hebrews 11:4-38). These people chose to suffer affliction with the people of God, rather than enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season. Esteeming the reproach of Christ was far greater riches than the treasures in Egypt. The Old Testament men and women listed in this chapter chose to obey God and to live godly lives, regardless of the outcome, often being blessed far beyond measure.

This reminds us of how much more our Savior has made available to us by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Surely, we too can lay aside every weight, and sin  that bears us, and endure what we are faced with. The runners who win the race of life are looking unto Jesus, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, thinking little of the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin." (12:1-4).

The Christian life demands self-denial, discipline, and wholehearted love for God and His Word. These characteristics distinguish the true Christian from the self-indulgence practiced by the world. We must decide for ourselves, by a prayerful reading of the Scriptures and self-examination, if there are worldly hindrances to our spiritual lives that need to be eliminated.

The race of which Paul writes is a life of faithfulness and obedience. Jesus said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me (See Luke 9). A life without Jesus may fulfill the desires of the world for a time, but no matter how much you have you will never be satisfied. Do not let people fool you into thinking they are happy, wealth can end in an instant, but Jesus is eternal and will never leave you. He will make you richer then you ever imagine.

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day here on earth and thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Lord, give me yourself, for you are sufficient for me. If I were to ask anything less I should always be in want, for in you alone do I have all. Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life and make me the kind of person you want me to be. In Jesus name, I pray......Amen

Have a wonderful day/night and week.
God Bless

Jesus Said: December 17, 2007

Posted on Dec 17, 2007

12.16.07

"Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." -John 8:1-11

No matter what you have done in your past, God forgives all of that, all you have to do is ask Him to forgive you and it is done. There is no exception, all is forgiven. So, why do so many people suffer from past mistakes? Other people.

As I have made my share of mistakes in life I have found one thing to be true, no matter how hard you try to forget and forgive someone is going to make sure that does not happen. Some people are just so happy to see others suffering that they will stop at nothing to make sure it happens. I call people like that miserable, they are so unhappy with themselves and the mistakes that they made that it makes them feel better to point out others mistakes and never let you forget them. What is worse is that they will often bring up the fact that you are a Christian and use that against you as well.

Just as we read from the above Scripture, these men, who are sinners themselves were quick to see this woman suffer and even die for her mistake. However, Jesus knew that these men were no better than she was, after all He knew every sin that they commited as well. He says, go ahead, convict her, but before you do think about what you have done, have you sinned yourselves. One by one these men left leaving the woman there alone. Then Jesus says to the woman, you are forgiven, go and sin no more.

Just as Jesus forgave this woman He will forgive you, do not let anyone tell you otherwise. If they try bring up the past you simply say God Bless you and walk away. If it gets too bad, just talk ot God, He listens and hears you and will help you get through the pain. Remember, most of these people are covering up their own past mistakes. Do not stoop to their level by pointing out their mistakes either, all you are doing is adding fuel to the fire. I know it can be hard to just walk away, but you are the better person. God will take care of you and them.

Jesus Said: December 15, 2007

Posted on Dec 15, 2007

12.15.07

"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."- Matthew 6:5-13 (KJV)

Often people pray and pray, they even ask people to pray for them only to see no results. God does not do this to punish you He does this to strengthen your faith in Him as well as make sure you are prepared to handle that prayer being answered.

In the verses above Jesus is explaining to His disciples the proper way to pray. God knows exactly what we are in need of even before we ask Him, if you are praying for something that is going to cause harm to yourself or others you can rest assure that that prayer will not be answered. This is also true if you are praying for something useless over and over again. We all have needs and desires, but when they become more important to you than God He will wait until you realize that you are more focused on vanity than Him.

Another reason a prayer is not answered is because we are not truly believing that it will happen. When we pray we are to pray with faith as if that prayer is already answered. We are to go to God with confidence, talk to Him, let Him know that we need Him and keep it between you and God. Yes, you can ask someone to pray for you and it is also good to pray for others as well, but keep your prayers between you and God.

Keep doing these things and you can rest assure that those prayers will be answered. Then as you see them answered you can tell the world that God answered that prayer. Praise God.

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"And all men shall fear (respect), and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing. The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory." (Psalm 64:9-10)

It is Saturday December 15, 2007 and today we are continuing our studies on the book of Hebrews. Please read, Hebrews 8 -- 10. In Today's Reading we will learn about the New Covenant; the perfect sacrifice of Christ compared to temporary sacrifices under the Law; and an appeal to remain faithful.

The Tabernacle and worship system for Israel was revealed by God to Moses on Mount Sinai. The system of worship consisted of numerous sacrifices which could not cleanse from sins but could only "cover" them temporarily. However, every detail of this complex worship system was symbolic of the future single sacrifice of Christ on the cross. "For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. 4For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount." (Hebrews 8:3-5)

Jesus replaced Israel's high priest, multitude of priests, and all of the sacrificial worship system. God foretold through His prophet Jeremiah of a future Covenant. "But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away."  (Hebrews 8:6-13),(Compare to Jeremiah 31).

The Holy Spirit led Pual to write this letter to the Hebrews to point out that the Old Covenant had looked forward to a greater and more perfect Tabernacle. "But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." (9:11-12). The words more perfect Tabernacle refer to the bodily manifestation of God the Son, since the Tabernacle's contents, as well as the Tabernacle itself, symbolized Christ, His life, ministry, and death, as did all of the sacrifices. Animal sacrifices are no longer acceptable because Christ being come an High Priest of good things to come and by His own blood He entered in once into the Holy Place, giving eternal redemption to us.

Under the Old Covenant worship system, the blood of goats and calves, which were innocent animals, was sacrificed daily for worshipers' sins. But Christ, who is God become Man, shed His own blood and ended once and for all the Old Covenant. "It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (9:23-28).

The confession of our faith is a public acknowledgment that we have renounced the world and its lust of the flesh, and of the eyes, and the pride of life to remain loyal to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has done so much for us. God commended His love toward us in that while we were yet sinneres, Christ died for us and saved us from eternal death. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." (Romans 5:8-9).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with a new day and thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Lord, search the ground of my heart: prove me and examine my thoughts. If there be any wickedness in me, any root of bitterness yet undiscovered remove it from me and lead me in the way of Your everlasting will for me. Show me the true state of my soul and teach me to focus on You instead of the world. In Jesus' name, I pray.....Amen.

Have a wonderful day/night and weekend.
God Bless,
Chrisitna

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy." (Psalm 69:16-17)

It is Friday December 14, 2007 and today we are continuing our studies of the book of Hebrews, Please read Hebrews 5-7. In Today's Reading we will learn about Christ, the High Priest, an appeal to believe; a priestly order of Melchizedek; and the Aaronic priesthood's lower in standing next to Christ's priesthood.

God uses men called high priests also called ministers to educate His people on how He wants them to become. In the beginning when a person sinned he was to take a lamb to the high priest and as it was sacrificed he was saved from eternal death. These people were called on God personally and they were commanded to give God the glory for being saved. "For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity. And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron." (Hebrews 5:1-4). How thankful are we that mercy is an attribute of God, for it is one of our greatest daily needs. Mercy is an expression of His willingness to forgive sinners and deliver them from that eternal death. Mercy involves love and is a practical demonstration of this compassion.

Because God is also holy, He must enforce the penalty for sin without respect of persons, meaning that He does not pick and choose who is penalized for sin, we all are and the wages of sin is death (See Romans 6:23). In the Old Testament, a sinless lamb took the place of an Israelite and was slain in his place for his sin. The devout Jew was continually reminded that it is this blood that was punishment for the soul (See Leviticus 17:11). The need for numerous sacrifices ceased when Jesus, the sinless Son of God, died on the cross for our sins and became the Lamb of God, which took away the sin of the world (See John 1:29). In doing this Jesus became the source of eternal salvation. "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (Hebrews 9:12-14).

Since we so often fail to be all that we should be and rightly deserve the judgment of God, it is His mercy that gives a Christian assurance of a continued relationship with Him. In turn, the true believer will express mercy in his relationships with others because the Spirit of God dwells in his heart. We are blessed with His promise, "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy." (Matthew 5:7).

Today's prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with a new day here on earth and thank you for the many blessings you give me each day. Lord, thank you for my life on this earth, however challenging or not. Thank you for giving me free will to love and be loved, to make my own decisions, to learn from my mistakes, to laugh when I am happy, to cry when I am sad. And most of all that you for Your mercy and the greatest gift of all and that is salvation through Jesus. In Jesus' name, I pray......Amen.

Have a wonderful day/night and weekend.

Jesus Said: December 14, 2007

Posted on Dec 14, 2007
12.14.07
"And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it."- Mark 4:30-32

When Jesus first began teaching the gospel and showing them His wonderful works people were in awe and knew that He was the Messiah, yet there were many, including some disciples that lacked in their faith. In Mark Chapter 4 Jesus explains to His disciples that there are several levels of faith, and that faith grew in all who had even the tiniest amount as long as they nurtured it with the right soil. So, how does our faith grow? It grows first by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, after all He is the only way to reach the kingdom of God, also by staying in His Word, by talking with Him and walking with Him.

A wonderful thing begins to happen as your faith grows in Jesus, you feel His presence with you and no matter what you are going through you are at peace knowing that He will get you through it. I remember the times when I did not walk with Jesus, I was so lost and depressed and simply exsited as if I were a zombie. God knew that I was hurting, He let me fall as much as I could handle and then He picked me up and showed me what I was doing wrong. Sometimes it is not easy to let the Lord guide me as this crazy flesh wants to take control of situations, however once I come to my senses and let Him know that I can not handle it on my own I am at peace once again.

The same thing will happen to you, as long as you have the tiniest bit of faith Jesus will work in your heart and that faith will keep growing and growing and growing. What a great feeling to know that Jesus is always with you and has so much faith in you that He knows you will succeed.

Bible Study: December 13, 2007

Posted on Dec 13, 2007

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me." (Psalm 55:16-18)

It is Thursday December 13, 2007 and today we begin our studies on the book of Hebrews. Please read, Hebrews 1 -- 4 In Today's Reading we will learn why Christ assumed a human body; about Christ's superiority to angels and Moses; salvation; Christ, and our High Priest.

The book of Hebrews was written by Paul to the Jewish believers who were also known as Hebrews, his purpose was to present Jesus Christ as superior over all and that Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant established on better promises. "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they." (Hebrews 1:1-4)

Throughout the entire Bible, Old and New Testaments angels have been sent to assist believers through their walk with the Lord, often in times of distress. To name a few, angels delivered Lot out of Sodom when he was held captive (See Genesis 19:1-26); they ministered to Jesus following His 40-day fast (See Matthew 4:11); and an angel delivered Peter from prison (See Acts 12:11). But, even more comforting to us is knowing that angels were sent to minister to all who are to inherit salvation. "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? " (1:14) Long before we were even thought of God knew who would inherit salvation and from the second we are born He works in our hearts. Those thoughts, those people who show up at your door or walk up to you, are all used by God to minister to the lost the true gospel of Jesus.

Even when it seems that Satan has devastated our lives, God, who created and rules the universe, in His own way causes the works of Satan and the wrath of men to further His ultimate will for each one of us. However, the importance of angels does not compare to the superiority of Christ. "For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him." (1:5-6). Yet, despite His eternal superiority as Creator of angels, because of His great love for us, Jesus willingly was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death for He by the grace of God should taste death for every man. In order for the world to be saved He came to earth in the flesh to endure all the suffering that man is faced with in order to show all mankind that the devil has no power over the flesh. One can live on the earth and be faced with temptations and suffering and still overcome all of that through faith in God. Jesus sacrificed His life for us so that we can be made perfect in the eyes of God through His sufferings and blood shed.

"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted." (2:9-18).

While God has His angels who minister to us, Satan has his fallen angels (evil doers) who do his bidding. Paul warned us that Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light in order to deceive us. "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." (II Corinthians 11:14).

It is of utmost importance that we do not worship angels, as some are doing today. Angels are created beings and we are to worship the Creator, not the creation. Angels are merely guides that show us the way, they are not God himself. The Apostle John records in Revelation: "And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God." (Revelation 22:8-9).

Today's Prayer: Psalm 20:3-9

3Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.

4Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

5We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.

6Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

8They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

9Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.

Have a wonderful day/night and
God Bless

Bible Study: December 12, 2007

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit." (Psalm 51:10-12)

It is Wednesday December 12, 2007 and today we are studying the books of Titus and Philemon. Please read Titus 1-3 & Philemon 1. In Today's Reading we will learn about the qualifications of church leaders; a warning against false teachers; eternal life not by our works of righteousness but by His mercy; and Paul's appeal for Onesimus.

Paul wrote the letter of Titus to Titus, a Greek convert and fellow worker with Paul. The purpose of this letter was to correct problems and establish proper order in the churches located on the island of Crete. "Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:" (Titus 1:1-5)

The churches on the island of Crete needed spiritual leadership, so Paul instructed Titus to ordain qualified men to fill these positions."If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers." (Titus 1:6-9).

The Church belongs to Christ and is His Body on earth. Therefore, His qualifications for spiritual leaders must be followed; man's alternative options are unacceptable to God. Paul's letter to Titus warns that leaders must be blameless in their personal lives.

Paul gave instruction that older men and women should teach the younger men and women, instructing them to forsake evil passions and worldly ambitions, and to live honorably before the Lord. "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." (2:11-14). Our teaching must be based upon the threefold work of Christ for His people as a result of His death upon the cross. 1) He set us free and redeemed us from all iniquity,  2) He set us apart and purified unto Himself a special possession, and 3) He called us to be enthusiastic of good works.

The letter of Philemon was also written by Paul to Philemon, a Christian who lived at Colosse. The purpose of this letter was to appeal for Onesimus, the runaway slave of Philemon who had become a believer. The book also serves as a practical example of Christian principles applied to social relationships. It also illustrates the principle of forgiveness, and the ministry of intercession. "Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer, And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house: 10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds: Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me: Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels: Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel: But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly." Philemon, 1-2,10-14

Paul simply identifies himself as a prisoner of Jesus Christ, although Paul was imprisoned by the Roman Empire, he knew who really had control of his life. In his letter to Philemon he expressed the same attitude of gratitude. "I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus."  (Philemon 1:4-6). No matter what we are going through Jesus is always with us, we must remian focused on Jesus and be gracious of all that we experience in life, the good and bad. It is only by doing this are we able to overcome any situation and see the light beyond the darkness.

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord, Thank you for blessing me with thsi day and thank you for the many blessings you have given me. Thank you for the many blessings that I take for granted each day like food, water, and clothes. Lord, no matter what I am going through please help me to set my focus on You and not on the problems that I am facing. It is only that when You are with me am I truly able to overcome any situation.
In Jesus' mighty name, I pray......Amen.

Have a wonderful day/night full of many unexpected blessings,
God Bless,
Christina

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me. Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long."- Psalm 35:26-28

It is Tuesday December 11, 2007 and today we are studying the book of II Timothy. Please read, II Timothy 1 -- 4. In Today's Reading we will learn about Pauls advice to Timothy; the coming denial of faith; steadfastness in the Scriptures; and the charge to preach.

Paul wrote this letter to Timothy from prison to challenge him to assume responsibility for the ministry which the apostle was handing over due to his forthcoming death. Paul knew he would soon be executed for his faith. The purpose of this letter was to show the divine pattern for multiplication of the Gospel message, "to each one, teach one and reach one". "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;"  (II Timothy 1:1-4)

Paul reminds Timothy that his mother and grandmother had faithfully taught him that God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind. We are reminded that Jesus saved us through a holy calling, not according to the good that we do, but according to our faith in our Saviour."When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:" (II Timothy 1:5-10)

He encouraged Timothy to remember that choosing to live godly in Christ shall cause one to suffer persecution, but to continue to do so as the holy Scriptures will make a person wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. We are reminded that all Scripture is given by the inspiration of God to teach and correct us so that we are made perfect in His eyes. "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." (II Timothy 3:12-17).

It is not in harmony with biblical doctrine to say: "Every Scripture that is inspired" because all Scripture is inspired, even as Jesus pointed out to two of His disciples when beginning at Moses in the first five books of the Bible and all the prophets. He described to them that all the Scriptures related to Himself. "Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself." (Luke 24:26-27). Jesus never once implied that some Scripture was inspired and other portions of the Old Testament were not inspired. All Scripture obviously means every verse in the Bible. This is a doctrine of vital importance to the Church in this generation. The Old Testament as well as the New Testament warn against addition to or subtraction from God's inspired Word (See Deuteronomy 4:2 & Revelation 22:18-19).

The Almighty God obviously controls all the affairs of the universe and nothing could have been more vital than His control over the men whom He led to translate into English the One Book that reveals His will for our lives over 400 years ago. The Word of God is the only true source for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

We are to learn and preach (teach) the Word at all times for if we do not stay in His Word we will turn away from the truth and into a myth."I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." (4:1-4). Nothing is as essential as knowing God's Word. There are no options, no substitutes, no alternatives which can replace it.

Paul also spoke of some that have a form of godliness, but turn away in order to live for the world. "For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."  (3:2-7). Their doctrine may be correct, but it has no genuine effect upon their heart, thoughts or conduct. All Scripture is profitable for discipline in righteousness, giving direction for growing in grace. This means it teaches us to be all that God would have us to be in order to fulfull His perfect will for our lives.

Surely the Holy Spirit is still saying study God's Word to show yourself approved to God. We do not need to be ashamed to love the Lord, nor tell others that we follow Him. Ignore the gossip and do not stoop to their level as by doing so will only cause more ungodliness. "Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness." (2:14-16).

Dear Lord,
Grant me to greet the day in peace, help me in all things to rely upon your holy will, in every hour of the day reveal your will to me and Bless my dealings with all who surround me.

Lord, teach me to treat all that comes to throughout the day with peace of soul and with firm conviction that your will governs all.

In all my deeds and words, guide my thoughts and feelings. In unforeseen events, let me not forget that all are sent by you.

Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others. Give me strength to bear the fatigue of the day with all that it shall bring.

Direct my will, teach me to pray. And you, yourself, pray in me.

In Jesus' name, I pray......Amen.

Have a wondeful day/night and
God Bless You,
Christina

Bible Study: December 10, 2007

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart."- Psalm 32:10-11

It is Monday December 10, 2007 and today we are studying the book of I Timothy. Please read, I Timothy 1 -- 6. In Today's Reading we will learn about a warning against false doctrine; thankfulness for mercy; qualifications of church leaders; instructions about the widows and the elderly; and the good fight of faith.

Paul wrote this letter to Timothy, who was ministering as an temporary pastor in the church at Ephesus. The letter concerns some of the problems and needs which existed in this church. The purpose of the letter was to teach all believers that we should live a life of example of the ministry to which we have been called. "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do." (I Timothy 1:1-4)

The Roman emperor Nero was ruthlessly persecuting Christians and condemning many of them to death at the time Paul wrote this letter. Yet, Paul emphasized the importance of Christians praying for those who were in authority over them, regardless of their conduct. He wrote: "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;" (I Timothy 2:1-8). We are to pray for world leaders as well as for our local officials, we can be sure our prayers will have an effect upon their actions, whether the men themselves are godly or evil. "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will." (Proverbs 21:1).

Christians should faithfully witness the truth as revealed by Christ in His Word, even when it could mean imprisonment or death. While many shall turn their ears from the truth, we must remain faithful in all things and endure all afflictions. The number of those suffering affliction and being put to death for their faith in Christ continues to grow in many countries. The Apostle Peter was willing to defend his faith in Christ when he was confronted by government officials who warned him that he should not teach in this name. (See Acts 5). "For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. These things command and teach. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee." (4:10-16)

Later, Peter emphasized the responsibility of Christians to be law-abiding citizens, "Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well." (I Peter 2:12-14). If the law of a government violates the revealed will of God then the believer is to obey God and willingly suffer any penalties.

We can rest assured that no matter what we have done in the past as well as the present that we are saved by His mercy. "For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;" (Titus 3:3-5).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with a new day here on earth and thank you for the many blessings you give me each day.

My Lord, I know that I have not always lived my life righteously. I have done wrong through my thoughts, my actions, and the things that I have said, sometimes by mistake and sometimes on purpose.

At times, I have gone my own way and not put you at the center of my life.

Forgive me Lord for my sins and I thank you that I can ask You this because I truly believe that your Son, Jesus, died in my place and, through Him, You have mercy upon me.

Please help me to follow you more closely every day and live a life which gives glory back to you.

In Jesus' name, I pray......Amen

Have a wonderful day/night
God Bless,
Christina

Bible Study: December 9, 2007

Posted on Dec 10, 2007

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace." Psalm- 29:11

It is Sunday December 9, 2007 and today we are studying the book of II Thessalonians. Please read, II Thessalonians 1 -- 3. In Today's Reading we will learn about encouragement in persecution; instructions concerning the day of the Lord; and a commandment to work.

This letter was written by Paul to the church at Thessalonica and the purpose of this letter was to instruct believers waiting for the return of the Lord. Since there will be a great falling away before the day of the Lord, it is important to teach and live by sound doctrine. "Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;" (II Thessalonians 1:1-6)

It is horrifying to realize that the vast majority of mankind is blindly rushing toward an eternal lake of fire, ignorant of the intense suffering of their impending judgment. "And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; " (1:7-9).

To be sure, most people have their hearts set on worldly activities with little, if any, concern that they are living in rebellion against their Creator. That is why we warn them that our behavior does have eternal consequences. Those in Christ shall hear Him say, come you have been blessed to inherit the kigdom. "Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." (Matthew 25:34-40)

But all who refused to live to please Christ will hear Him say depart from me. "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." (25:41-46).

It was Jesus Himself who revealed the final destination of all who refuse to allow Him to rule their lives. Hell is a matter of choice. One chooses in this life to be present with God in heaven or to ignore Christ who died to save them from eternal hell. When Jesus returns all of the attention on that day will focus on Jesus! He will be: (1) Glorified in His saints, and (2) adored in all them that believe. "When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day." (II Thessalonians 1:10). What a future for each of us who decided to live for Jesus!

At times, we are all tempted to be influenced by the spirit of this world that deceives many that perish. "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." (2:8-10). We need to remind ourselves that we are in a spiritual battle against satanic forces.

In striking contrast, without exception, are those who choose to invest their lives in serving Christ and receive true satisfaction. "Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ." (1:11-12).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for blessing me with another day here on earth and thank you for the many blessings you give me each day.

Lord, I recognize that I have not completely lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong.

I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice.

Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior.

From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself or the world, but I will follow You all the days of my life.

The rest of my days are in Your hands.

I ask this in Jesus' name.....Amen.

Have a wondeful day/night and week.
God Bless,
Christina

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever."- Psalm 28:7-9

It is Saturday December 8, 207 and today we will study the book of I Thessalonians. Please read, I Thessalonians 1 -- 5. In Today's Reading we will learn about Paul's preaching; his appeal for purity; and the coming day of the Lord.

The letter of I Thessalonians was written by Paul to the believers at Thessalonica, his pourpose for writing the letter was to confirm to all believers that the Lord is coming back: To commend and exhort for the faith and correct false doctrine. Paul also answers false charges against his ministry. "Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake." (I Thessalonians 1-5)

The certainty of the believer's eternal life with Christ is based on the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul wrote: "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." (I Thessalonians 4:14-18).

The return of Christ will be the greatest event since His ascension when, while they believed He was taken up into a cloud and dissappeared. His return was confirmed at the time of His ascension by two witnesses from heaven: "And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." (Acts 1:9-11). Prior to His ascension, Jesus had promised His disciples: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."  (John 14:2-3).

There are no words to adequately describe the glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ. All of history is reduced to just two ages: the present age that began with Adam, and the age to come. You will know perfectly well when the day of the Lord will come. "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief." (I Thessalonians 5:1-4). Each day that goes by we are moving toward the appointed day of the Lord. This is the joyous anticipation of every Christian who is faithfully preparing and waiting for the triumphant return of our Redeemer.

Because of this assurance of Christ's return, Paul was led to write this, "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves." (I Thessalonians 5:11-13).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with a new day and thank you for the many blessings you give me each day.

Lord Jesus, help me to remain faithful to You and your calling upon my life.

Strengthen and grow my faith as I daily search Your Scriptures and apply their truths to my spiritual walk.

As I go through the trials and experiences of my earthly journey would You fix my eyes and my ever-wandering heart upon You, Jesus.

When the howling winds and forceful storms of this life attempt to shipwreck my faith may they instead prove my faith to be more than sufficient to withstand the continual assaults from the enemy.

I take refuge in You, Jesus my spiritual foundation is firm, always dependable, and leads me to glorious victory.

In Your mighty name, Jesus, I pray.....Amen

Have a wonderful day/night and weekend.
God Bless You,
Christina

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause." - Paslm 25:1-3

It is Friday December 7, 2007 and today we are studying the book of Colossians. Please read, Colossians 1 -- 4 In Today's Reading we will learn about mystery made manifest; the supremacy of Christ; reconciliation in Christ; Christ in you, the hope of glory, a warning against false teaching; Christian virtues; and Christian families.

Paul wrote this letter to the believers at Colosse who were to share the letter with the believers at Laodecea. His purpose for writting this letter was to deal with doctrinal (teaching) issues in the church. Here we learn that Christ is all and is in all. "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:" (Colossians 1:1-6)

As we continue reading God's Word with a desire to please Him in all of our decisions, the Holy Spirit guides us into a deeper revelation of His will and His ways. There is no limit to the understanding, strength, and endurance that are made available to every Christian. Christ alone, through His Word, can reveal and meet all of our spiritual needs. To help us grasp the importance of this, Paul wrote, "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:" (Colossians 1:9-12). Notice how often the word all is used, all wisdom, all pleasing, all might, all patience. We must not cease from praying and desiring to know the Word of God. It is only by doing this will we be strong in our faith to endure any struggle that comes our way.

What follows is the practical demonstration of the new life in Christ for all believers.  "For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." (2:5-8).

As evidence of this new life as Christians, Paul encouraged the new believers to set their love on the things above and not on the things of the world. When we accept Jesus into our lives our old deceitful flesh becomes dead to God and a new life is born, one that dwells with Jesus Christ. Therfore we are to humble ourselves and live not for the desires of the flesh, meaning we are to stay away from people and actions that cause us to sin against our bodies. "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them." (3:1-7).

The Christian's strength in fulfilling God's will is the result of letting the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. And whatever you do in word or deed do it All in the name of the Lord, Jesus and by giving thanks to God by Him. "Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." (3:11-17).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with a new day and thank you for the many blessings you give me each day.

Lord, I admit that I have not always set my love on the things above, my flesh has often reached for the temptations of the world rather than for You.

Please forgive me, Lord for the times that I have forgotten You in order to fulfill the desires of my flesh.

Wash me and cleanse me from the past and create in me a new heart that only desires You.

I give You thanks for everything that You have given me, I especially thank you for sending your Son, Jesus to take my place on the cross for all my sins.

When I should have been paying the price for these Jesus paid by debt.

I love You Lord, Jesus and ask You to stay close by me forever and teach me to learn Your Word and to live for God.

In Your mighty name Jesus, I pray....Amen.

Have a wonderful day/night and weekend. May God bless you with unaswered prayers and may He bless those who have lost their way.

God Bless,
Christina

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."- Psalm 23:1-3

It is Thursday December 6 and today we begin studying the book of Philipians. Please read, Philippians 1 -- 4 In Today's Reading we will learn about Paul's prayer for the Philippians; the privilege of suffering for Christ; unity gained by humility; and exhortation to rejoice in the Lord.

The Apostle Paul wrote this letter of Philipians to the people of the Church at Philippi in order to present an appeal for Christian unity. "Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ." (Philipians 1:1-2)

Paul first preached in Europe near the city of Philippi. On the Sabbath, Paul went to a place of prayer by a river where he met Lydia, a businesswoman from Thyatira. Lydia was saved along with a few others, and a church was planted there (See Acts 16:13-15). At a later date, as a missionary prisoner at Rome, Paul wrote to these converts.

His imprisonment gave him the opportunity to share the Good News about Jesus with the elite guard of the Roman Empire. As there was a change of guard three or four times a day, this was a great opportunity to tell many of them about Jesus the Messiah, who was foretold in the Hebrew Scriptures. He wrote to the Philippians: "And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God. But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear." (Philippians 1:9-14).

Paul encouraged the church to hold onto the Word of Life no matter what you do for the world. "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain."(2:14-16). Our occupation in life may be in politics, the military, business, education, manual labor, or homemaking, but our primary concern should always be that we have not forgotten our Saviour in order to achieve those occupations.

We all have a natural desire for physical comforts, security, and material things. However, in making our decisions, our first consideration and loyalty should be to Christ. There is a storehouse of spiritual wealth and peace in Him that surpasses all earthly possessions in importance.

Paul had renounced a prominent religious career in Jerusalem for a life of unceasing hardship and persecution which was destined to end in a violent death. Knowing what the future held for him, he said: "According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again."(1:20-26).

We too should be able to say with Paul: I count all things but loss for the excellency  of my personal relationship with Jesus Christ my Lord. "But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus."  (Philippians 3:7-12).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,

Because I love Your commands more than worldly pleasures or temporal possessions I despise the paths that lead me astray like a lost sheep.

You have gone before me and cleared the way so that I might follow in Your steps and the steps of other righteous, godly saints.

I am comforted in knowing that I don't walk alone, but I walk hand in hand with You as my Guide.

Through eyes of faith I see a great cloud of witnesses, those spoken of in the Bible and those I've known in my lifetime, who've already finished the race cheering me on as I persevere in this path of righteousness.

May I endure hardship as a form of discipline and may I wholeheartedly seek You above everything else, for You are a Rewarder of those who diligently seek You.

In Jesus name, I pray.....Amen.

Have a wonderful day/night and
God Bless you,

Christina

The True Reason For Christmas

Posted on Dec 6, 2007
The story of Nativity or the birth of Christ as illustrated in the Gospel of Luke is all about the journey of Mary and Joseph from Nazareth to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus. In order to attend the census ordered by the Roman emperor Augustus, Mary and Joseph journeyed for 4-5 days and when they arrived there were no rooms avaliable. A kind man lead them to a stable and they took shelter there, where Mary delivered baby Jesus.

Luke 2:1-21
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

The Gospel of Matthew refers to the story of the Magi or the three wise men that arrived in Bethlehem by observing a specific star in the night sky. This is known as the Star of Bethlehem. Incidentally they entered into King Herod's palace and enquired about the birth of young Messiah (Savior). The deceitful Herod at once became worried about his being dethroned. He directed the Magi to continue their journey and inform him if they could trace the birth of such young king. The star of Bethlehem directed the Magi to the manger of the baby Jesus. They offered their gifts and paid homage to their Lord. But the Magi didn't inform Herod as they got a divine warning. An angel told Joseph to flee with his family to Egypt. Meanwhile, Herod ordered that all male children of Bethlehem under the age of 2 be killed.
top
Although traditional nativity scenes show that there were three wise men and that they arrived shortly after His birth the Bible tells us that there were many and by the time they reached Jesus he was around two years of age.

Matthew 1:18-25
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Matthew 2:1-12
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

The actual Christmas History does not mention the exact date of birth of Christ. It may occur between the time of the first appearance of the star and the arrival of Magi in Herod's court during (6-4BC).

True Christmas History interprets Dec.25 as the Day of Feast. This is because the Roman pagan sun god Mithras' birthday as well as the date of the Annunciation (March25, AD 29) of Christ fell on this day.

Bible Study: December 5, 2007

Posted on Dec 5, 2007

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's."- Psalm 103:1-5

It is Wednesday December 5, 2007 and today we are completing our studies on the book of Ephesians. Please read, Ephesians 4 -- 6. In Today's Reading we will learn about exhortations (to urge) on unity; spiritual gifts; the importance of holiness; walk in love; marriage, symbolic of the Church; duties of children; and the armor of God.

When we let the love of Christ flow through us and manifest His loving-kindness to everyone without discrimination, then we enjoy His bountiful blessings. We are to overcome all thoughts of resentment without exception, this means that we are to let go of all bitterness and hatred that causes thoughts of harm or pain on someone. "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:" (Ephesians 4:29-31). Instead, we are to be kind and forgiving to one another. "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." (4:32).

Wrath and anger are often demonstrated in an outburst of abusive language as a reaction against someone who disagrees with our views and actions. Sadly, when some people are offended they are unwilling to forgive. Even more serious is the sin of slander, or false to damage someone's reputation, which is one of the seven sins that God hates the most. "These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren." (Proverbs 6:16-19).

The presence of any of these evils destroys our peace of mind, grieves the Holy Spirit, and affects our relationship with God. However, if we allow the Holy Spirit to rule our lives feelings of anger will be overcome. Instead of thoughts of bitterness, revenge, and anger, we should see difficult situations as opportunities to pray for those who wrong us. Our example should be Stephen, who prayed while he was being stoned to death. "And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep." (Acts 7:60).

Every Christian is a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ and is responsible to respond with His love toward all who, by their words, attitudes, or actions, are unlovely. He is the Head of His Body the Church and we are that Body. It is under His direction that the whole Body is fitted together perfectly to work in harmony to perfect all believers for building up the Body of Christ. "He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love." (Ephesians 4:10-16).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for blessing me with another day here on earth and thank You for the many blessings you give me each day.

Lord, I want to be perfect for building up the Body of Christ. I know that I have let anger and bitterness control my thoughts and actions at times.

Please forgive me of my sins and teach me to look beyond the anger and hurt and to look through Your eyes of love toward one another.

I know that as long as I stay angry and not forgive those who hurt me all I am doing is hurting myself because I am letting that anger control me.

Lord, walk with me, guide me, and be with me in all that I do so that I am perfect in Your eyes and stay faithful to You.

In Jesus name, I pray......Amen.

Have a great and joyful day/night.
God Bless,
Christina

Bible Study: December 4, 2007

Posted on Dec 4, 2007

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy."- Psalm 147:11, To fear the Lord is not to be afraid of Him, but to apperciate Him.

It is Tuesday December 4, 2007 and today we begin studying the book of Ephesians. Please read, Ephesians 1 -- 3. In Today's Reading we will learn about the spiritual blessings in Christ; the prayers of Paul; the unity of believers; and Paul's mission to the Gentiles.

The book of Ephesians was written by Paul to the church of Ephesus and all who believe in Jesus Christ. His purpose was to inform believers of their wealth in Christ and instruct them concerning their walk in Him. "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ."

God who created all mankind has chosen us to be His children. In fact, he chose us before the beginning of the world. "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;" (Ephesians 1:4-7). No person or power can cheat us out of the very best that God has planned for our lives. As we daily read and study His Word with a desire to do His will, we can then pray and depend upon the Holy Spirit to guide our lives as we are His workmanship and created us to follow Jesus and walk in His good works. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (2:8-10).

Before Christ came to earth, only the Jews had a Covenant relationship with God. Paul explained to the Ephesians that when they were without Jesus they were strangers to the covenant agreement and had no hope without God living in the world. "Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." (2:11-13). Jews and Gentiles alike who receive Christ as Savior and Lord now have a Covenant relationship with God through the New Testament sealed with Christ's blood. "And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." (Matthew 26:26-285). It is only through Jesus that we have we have access to God.

In A.D. 70, God used the Roman general Titus to destroy the Temple, the Brazen Altar of Sacrifice, and the functions of the high priest. These merely foreshadowed the Messiah Jesus who is the only Means through which anyone can approach the One True Holy God to worship Him. Now we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him. "According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory." (3:11-13).

Is it any surprise that Satan will deceptively seek to keep us too busy, even doing "good" things, in his effort to keep us from reading God's Word which will make our prayers effective? Because of our love for the Lord, the true believer looks forward to a daily conversation of talking to God  by prayer and God talking to us by reading His Word. "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."  (Ephesians 3:14-21).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with a new day here on earth and thank you for the many blessings you give me each day.

I thank you, Lord for choosing me to be one of Your children. Out of all the people in the world, you chose me long before I was even thought of.

What a blessing it is to know that You think of me as someone who you can trust to fulfill your purpose.

Lord, walk with me, guide me, and show me the way to walk in Your good works. Help me to stay focused and put You first about all things.

Lord, I know you sent us to be your messenger and to tell all about the New Convenant that was made by Jesus. Help us to grow with You and give us the wisdom and understanding to accomplish this great task.

We are so blessed and I thank you for all that you do to keep us free from satan's power.

In Jesus, name, I pray,,,,,,,Amen

Have a wonderful and joyful day,
God Bless,
Chrisitna

Bible Study: December 3, 2007

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me."- Psalm 144:1-2

It is Monday December 3, 2007 and today we are continuing our studies on the book of Galatians. Please read, Galatians 4 -- 6 In Today's Reading we will leanr about the two Covenants of Law and promise; the liberty of the Gospel; and the fruit of the Spirit.

As we accept Jesus into our lives we are led by the spirit to live a more righteous life. The Apostle Paul recorded seventeen sins that keep people from inheriting the Kingdom of God should they continue to live in these sins. "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication (sex before marriage), uncleanness (lustful thoughts), lasciviousness (fulfilling lusts), Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations (trying to surpass someone's success), wrath, strife, seditions (rebellion), heresies (disagree with the Bible's teachings), Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings (get drunk), and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (Galatians 5:16-21).

Beginning the list are adultery, fornication, and uncleanness, these sins include intercourse between any unmarried man and woman, as well as the perversions of sex, such as homosexuality. The works of the flesh also include everything that defiles our mind, body, or spirit, such as sexually explicit magazines, television programs, immoral jokes, and lustful thoughts.

Idolatry includes greed and anything or anyone other than God Himself that takes place above Him. The object of idolatry could include money, an occupation, a person, a personal pleasure, or a habit. Though some of these may not be evil in themselves, if they occupy the time and are given the loyalty which God deserves, they actually become an idol to us. Often overlooked is witchcraft, which includes horoscopes, palm reading, hypnotism, seances, and other acts that try to control a person.

Also on the list are hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, and heresies. These include rivalries, dissagreements beyond the majority, jealousy and the obsession to excel above others at any cost. All these emotions spring from selfish attitudes of the heart. "And he (Jesus) said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." (Mark 7:20-23).

We can give thanks to God that we who follow Jesus have been crucified from our own flesh. We are no longer enslaved by these works of the flesh but are endowed with the Holy Spirit and can bear His fruit, which is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another."  (Galatians 5:22-24).

You can rest assure that even if you have fallen into sinful habits Jesus will forgive you of them. All who truly repent and do what they can to overcome those sinful habits are forgiven by God. He will not condemn those who seek to improve themselves, however if you continue to live in sin thinking that God will forgive you every time you do it than you are deceiving yourself. Anyone who truly accepts God will eventually ween themselves from those things because the Holy Spirit dwells in them. "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. " (6:1-8)

Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with another day here on earth and thank you for the many blessings that you give me each day.

Lord, I ask you today to be with those who suffer from sinful habits that keep them captive.

Forgive them, Lord for they do not know what they are doing and give them peace knowing that You will help them overcome any temptation.

Lord, I know at times I have not lived my life for You and have fallen into the temptations of my own flesh.

Forgive me, Lord, walk with me, guide me, and be with me in all I do for this is the only way I can stay faithful to You and not fall into temptations that cause You to turn your back on me.

In Jesus name, I pray......Amen.

Have a gloryous and peaceful day/night and week.
God Bless,
Christina

Bible Study: December 2, 2007

Posted on Dec 2, 2007

Hello My Friend/Guest,

"In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me. Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue."- Psalm 120:1-2

It is Sunday December 2, 2007 and today we begin our studies on the book of Galatians. Please read, Galatians 1 -- 3 In Today's Reading we will learn about the y one true Gospel; justification by faith, not the Law; and the Law guides us to Christ.

The book of Galatians was written by the apostle Paul to the people of Galatia to correct the false teaching that they were receiving of Jewish legalism in the Church."I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." (Galatians 1:6-8)

This letter for the Galatians forever settles the fact that there is only one way to avoid the eternal lake of fire and to be assured of eternal life in heaven. We can only be justified by the faith of Christ, not by anything that we do in the flesh.
